The 3 of us had a lovely light lunch: soup and 2 sandwiches. Everything evidence that the folks in the kitchen really know what they’re doing. Service front of house was quick, efficient and friendly. We would come back like a shot.

I organised a family Christmas meal for 17 across all ages here as it's the ideal location to travel from west and east of the UK, both driving and by train. From the start it was an outstanding experience, from organising menus and choices with the hospitality team in advance, to the warm welcome and the meal which was beautifully and quickly served, through to the end and our goodbyes. Everyone in my family was really positive about the wonderful food, staff, ambience and location. It was great to have a delightful room to ourselves including children's books there to keep a 3 year old occupied. We went into the warm and relaxing lounge to have coffee and tea after eating, and there were even some board games which our young appreciated. The staff were so attentive and patient, and the food was amazing - we all loved what we had to eat, and there were generous portions with all plates empty at the end (high praise!). With our very best wishes and thanks to the whole team.

A great location from which to explore the Cotswalds. The customer care is second to none from arrival to departure . Delicious food in the restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable and designed empathetically to its original purpose as part of the stable block. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We had a birthday meal here, and had extremely good food. The blade of beef was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying mash and red wine jus complemented it excellently. Our waitress Zara was very attentive and got us everything we wanted.

Stayed for two nights on the DBB deal. Well worth it , food is delicious (omg that calamari ) and you get a bottle of wine along with a £30 allowance each. Room was lovely and very in keeping with the building, nice and warm with extra heater if you need it. Service was great especially at reception. Would definitely return. Only blip was an alarm going off at 8.30am on the day we where having a lie in . Apparently from an over sensitive alarm near a shower. Needs addressing as it's an awful way to be woken unnecessarily. Would of left housekeeping a tip but over £21.00 had been added to my bill for restaurant tip. Really wish establishments would stop doing this and let us decide what we think is appropriate.

We had a superb meal for my birthday. The food was brilliant and the service from Zara and Stefan was both friendly and efficient. They went out of their way to make sure we both had a lovely experience. Keep up the good work and compliments to the chef and the team.

We had the best weekend ever. The place is stunning, with lots of space. The kitchen is huge, with three ovens and plenty of surface space to cook. We cooked a Beef Wellington, fresh pasta, bake tarts, and even prepared an authentic English breakfast in the morning. I’ve never seen a kitchen with so much equipments. The living room, with the fireplace, was so special, we had few drinks there and played some games. The bar was absolutely stunning; it kept the original vibe while adding a luxurious touch. It was a bit cold outside, so the jacuzzi felt even better while sipping some champagne. Lastly (though not least important), the rooms, I can’t describe how much character each one has. You can really tell the owners spent a lot of time making every detail unique. I suggest buying fresh milk, butter, and eggs from the place by the church, and going for a walk — or even better, a hike. The view is breathtaking.”

We have visited here twice in two days, first night for drinks and tonight for a meal. Lovely ambience and great friendly service from staff. The open fire was lovely especially on a cold evening. Wide menu with plenty of gluten free options, more than I have previously encountered. The sourdough bread starter with salted Gloucestershire butter was divine. I opted for the Beef blade on mash with mushrooms and shallots in a jus. The beef melted on touch and was delicious as were the mash, onions, wilted spinach and baby mushrooms. I polished it off very quickly! My husband had the homemade chixkyand tarragon pie, he described it as freshly roasted chicken that the meat had been pulled off it,so meaty with beautiful tarragon flavour and so plentiful. The pastry was perfect. He had a large portion of cabbage, kale, leeks and garden peas. It was a fabulous portion and so tasty. He had chips with it were good. Service was excellent and congratulations to the Chef and team for a job well done. We may have to return tomorrow night for our last night! Highly recommend.
